Robert “Bobby” Morong

Bobby Morong wrote Blame Yourself for people who want more agency without the performance of self-help.

For two decades, Bobby worked as a Physical Education and Special Education teacher in the Boston area. That work made one thing hard to miss: people do better when difficult situations are named honestly and the next usable move becomes clear.

He later created Training Ties, a classroom and activity tool, and co-hosts the Slept-On Cinema podcast. He lives in San Diego with his family.

Why Blame Yourself exists

The title is deliberately sharp. The argument is not that every hardship is your fault. It is that once the facts are clear, you still have a response to choose: a boundary, an honest conversation, a skill to build, a request for help, or a decision to leave.

The book uses twenty films and twenty short Mirror Moment exercises to make that choice visible. The purpose is practical—replace self-punishment and blame with one action you can actually take.

Start with the work, not a sales pitch.
